  • Graduate students in the Department of Chemistry should bring a copy of their transcript and graduation requirements (for Master's, Doctoral, and Integrated programs) to the Department of Chemistry's administrative office for verification during the application period for the thesis examination. After verification, apply on the portal.

  • The thesis for the degree examination does not need to be submitted during this application period.

2022 Academic Year Second Semester Graduate School Thesis Examination for Degree Announcement

 

Applications for thesis examination for a degree must be made online during the specified period *strict adherence to the schedule (no applications accepted outside the application period)

□ Apply online for the thesis examination for a degree and submit the required documents to your department's administrative office during the document submission period

□ Check whether you meet the requirements for submitting a thesis for degree examination on KUPID (application not possible if requirements are not met)

  1. Online Application Period for Thesis Examination: October 17 (Mon) - October 20 (Thu) 16:00 *Strict adherence to the application period
    1. You must apply 'online' during the specified application period
    2. No applications for the thesis examination will be accepted after the application period (strict adherence to the application period)
    3. Once submitted, the application form for the thesis examination cannot be canceled or refunded

  2. Submission of Application Documents for Thesis Examination: October 17 (Mon) - October 20 (Thu) 16:00

a. Submission Documents: Submit the thesis for examination and documents to your department's administrative office

  1. The recommendation letter and list of examiners are prepared by the advisor
  2. The application form for the examination must be verified by your department's administrative office
  3. One copy of the thesis for examination is delivered directly to the advisor, and the rest are delivered to the examiners by the department's administrative office
  4. Print the thesis examination application form after applying online
  5. Submit the examination application form and all attachments to your department's administrative office, which then provides the examiners with the guide and the thesis for examination

※ Once submitted, the application form for the thesis examination cannot be canceled or refunded

  • Payment of the thesis registration fee is not possible after the payment period

a. Target: Graduates who have applied online for the thesis examination must pay the thesis registration fee (mandatory) *Excludes current students and permanent graduates

  • Current students during the regular semester do not need to register additionally

  • Permanent graduates who have been approved for an extension of the thesis examination (special case) must complete tuition payment during the regular registration period

b. Payment of Thesis Registration Fee

  • Those eligible for 0 won registration must visit KEB Hana Bank (Korea University branch, Hana Square branch) with a 0 won registration fee billing statement and complete the 0 won registration
  1. If you fail the thesis examination and request a re-examination, you must re-pay the thesis registration fee

c. Graduates who are on a leave of absence for research and those who have not applied for the thesis examination cannot pay the thesis registration fee

  1. Entry of Thesis Examination Results and Summary (by Examiners): By December 9 (Fri)
  • After the final thesis examination, the chair and examiners enter the examination results and summary on the thesis examination page
  1. Upload of the Full Text of the Thesis for Degree on the Library Website: December 19 (Mon) - 30 (Fri) 16:30

※ Do not submit the final bound copy to the library (*Strict adherence to the submission period (no submissions outside the specified period))

※ Those substituting for a Master's thesis do not upload

Procedure for those substituting for a Master's thesis: Submit a copy of the substitute work to your department (department) administrative office

 

Detailed information regarding the upload of the full text of the thesis for degree will be announced later (expected at the end of October 2022)

 

 

  1. Other Information

a. Change in Submission of Copyright Agreement

When uploading the full text of the thesis for degree, only the agreement submitted after agreeing to the copyright on dcollection is submitted

No additional offline submissions are made.

b. Change of Thesis Title

  1. The title of the final bound thesis and the 'Thesis Examination Application Form' must match, and if changed, the student must modify the title of the 'Thesis Examination Application Form' on the portal (KUPID). However, the title can only be modified until the final examination.

  2. Modification method: Log in to the portal (KUPID) → Academic Status/Graduation → Thesis Examination → Apply for Thesis Examination → Change thesis title and save

c. Cancellation and refund of the submitted thesis examination application form and thesis registration fee are not possible

 

d. If the thesis examination result is not passed

  • Current students: Cancellation and refund of the thesis examination application form are not possible

  • Graduates: Cancellation and refund of the thesis examination application form are not possible, and the paid thesis registration fee (5% of the tuition fee for each department) and research registration fee (2% of the tuition fee for each department) are not refundable

e. Wearing a mask is mandatory when entering the thesis examination room due to COVID-19
