2021 Future Cosmetics Development Foundation Outstanding Student Paper Award Application Guide

1. Introduction

The LG Life Sciences Future Cosmetic Support Foundation awards outstanding student papers based on creative ideas from domestic and overseas university and graduate students to foster outstanding talents in the future cosmetics industry. The goal of the program is to encourage students to continue their creative and practical research by awarding excellent papers written and presented by students studying in basic R&D fields (chemistry, bio, materials, etc.) related to future cosmetics. We look forward to the participation of students who will lead the bright future of the K-Beauty industry, which is developing day by day.

Applicants	Paper whose first author is currently undergraduate/master's/doctoral students or postdoctoral researcher, and which have been published in academic journal or presented at conferences
Awards	First Prize (00 people): 2 million won / Honorable mention (00 people): KRW 100,000 (paid to 1 author)

2. Target Fields

Open to various technical fields that can contribute to future cosmetic developments.

Materials	• Functional: Whitening, Anti-wrinkle,Sun-protection, Moisturizing etc • Natural:Actice ingredients,Preservatives,Antimircrobials, Hair Conditioning, Biobased material processing/production etc • Chemical: Surfactants, polymer compounds, chemical processing/production, etc.
Formulation Tech	• Emulsification, solubilization, powder, dispersion, wetting, liposomes, patches, polymer molding/processing, encapsulation, etc. • Skin absorption and stabilization, instant foaming, active ingredient delivery, micro-needle, etc.
Evaluation	• Efficacy evaluation, stability evaluation, preservative evaluation, toxicity evaluation, UV protection evaluation, transdermal delivery evaluation,sensory evaluation, etc. • Animal test alternative evaluation (simulation, artificial skin/3D skin culture), in-vitro analysis system, etc.
Dermatology Applied Tech	• Anti-Aging, Skin Microbiome, Omics, Stem Cells, Glycobiology, Skin Microbiome, Systems Cell Science, etc. • Wrinkle research (expression wrinkles, permanent wrinkles), environmental pollution-skin effects, etc.
United Tech	• Inner Beauty, IoT Beauty Device etc • Biofusion: Dermacosmetics (cosmeceuticals), nano-biofusion, bioinformatics, customized cosmetics based on genomic information, DNA chip/protein chip, etc. • Humanities research: evolutionary psychology, brain science, emotional engineering, etc.
Etc	• Environmental: Water/Energy Saving Tech(ex. Dry Shampoo etc) etc • Ease of use: technologies that reduce makeup and cleaning time, new cosmetics business models, etc.

- How to apply: Fill out the 'Excellent Student Paper Award Application Form' in <Appendix 1> and the 'Personal Information Collection and Use Agreement' in <Appendix 2>.

-Originality of the research topic: 20%.
- Clarity of research purpose: 20 percent.
- Appropriateness of research methods: 20%.
- Logic of the presentation of the content: 20%.
- Academic/technical impact: 20%.
