Guidelines for the Second Semester 2022 Double Major Admission
Based on Chapter 4, Section 3, Article 36 of the "Academic Regulations," and Chapter 3, Section 1, Articles 37, 38, and Chapter 7, Section 2 of the "Academic Operations Regulations."
Ⅰ. Admission Schedule
*No applications will be accepted after the application period (Applications must be completed by one hour before the deadline, considering possible computer errors during application).
*No exceptions will be made for computer errors.
a. Those who have acquired a total of 102 credits (34 credits for transfer students).
b. Those with a GPA of 2.5 or above (including F grades).
c. Current students in the second semester of 2022
(Applicants who are currently studying abroad at foreign universities under exchange programs are not eligible to apply).
*According to Article 8 of the Military Personnel Act, candidates scheduled to be commissioned as military officers cannot apply.
*Students who have already been approved for a double major cannot reapply.
a. Excluding departments (divisions) that are the same or similar to the first major or double major.
*Refer to the table of eligibility for double major in similar departments on the following page.
b. Excluded colleges (divisions): School of Medicine, College of Nursing, Cyber Defense Department, College of Pharmacy.
c. Restricted departments (divisions): College of Education (Applications are only accepted from those who have completed their studies at the College of Education).
d. Other Matters
a. For double major students, an additional 2 years are granted to the duration of enrollment for the first major. (However, an additional 6 years are granted for the Department of Architecture).
b. Leave of absence and periods of expulsion are not included in the duration of enrollment.
c. Students who have exceeded the duration of enrollment will be expelled and not permitted to re-enter.
d. Periods during which students maintain their academic status due to reasons such as fulfilling the graduation requirements stipulated by the department (division) but failing to meet special graduation requirements such as graduation exams, graduation theses, English proficiency, and Chinese language certification as stipulated by the department (division) are also included in the duration of enrollment.
a. Humanities and Natural Sciences Departments (Divisions): Document screening and interview (International College conducts interviews in English).
b. Arts and Physical Education Departments (Divisions): Document screening and interview or practical exam.
*Applicants to the Department of Design must specify their major field of study in the academic plan (Spatial Design or Design).
a. Payment Period: March 21, 2022 (Mon) 10:00 AM ~ March 23, 2022 (Wed) 4:00 PM
(Since the payment deadline is 1 hour earlier than the double major application period, please be aware)
b. Application Fee: KRW 20,000 (The depositor's name must include the applicant's name + the last 3 digits of their student ID, e.g., Hong Gildong123)
c. Bank Account: Hana Bank 391-910009-50504 (Korea University Double Major Admission Fee)
*After paying the application fee to the university account, you must attach the application fee receipt (or proof) when applying for a double major via the portal to complete the application.
*Failure to pay the application fee by the payment deadline or failure to attach the application fee receipt (or proof) will result in automatic cancellation.
a. Date: March 29, 2022 (Tue) ~ March 31, 2022 (Thu)
b. Location: To be announced later
*Interview schedules will be conducted on one of the three days depending on the circumstances of each department (division).
*After the application deadline, the interview schedule and location for each department (division) will be announced on the notice board.
a. Date: April 8, 2022 (Fri) 5:00 PM (Scheduled)
b. Announcement: Posted on the portal (KUPID) - Bulletin Board - Notice - Academic Schedule.
