Monitoring photo-chemical reaction with Raman spectroscopy
Raman based optical spectroscopic techniques enable us to characterize a tremendous chemicals and identify structural information based on their intrinsic vibrational frequency. Since their own capability, these tools have attracted considerable attention in various research field. It is highly desirable for monitoring chemical reaction in real-time; however, it can be challenging to catch reaction intermediate due to its short lifetime. In this talk, we demonstrate that molecular intermediate could be detected at Au nanoparticle/molecule/Ag thin-film junction, using surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS). In addition, we could verify the coloring and bleaching mechanism of photoelectrochromic device, using micro-Raman spectroscopy. These techniques could be used to a variety of applications.
