This is from professor Hak Joong Kim, who is in charge of Chemistry Graduate Seminar.

Due to the spread of COVID-19, we would like to inform you that there are some differences from the previous semester in the course of seminar classes. Seminar classes are offered to students taking the following major courses:

CHM645 Chemistry Research Methodology I,  Kim Hak-joong
CHM713 Inorganic Chemistry Seminar, Seokjoong Lee
CHM723 Organic and Biological Chemistry Seminar, Cheon Cheol-hong

Currently, the university headquarters has requested online lectures for the first two weeks, and considering that there is a high probability that the overall situation will not be improved until April, all seminar schedules for this semester will start from the last week of April.  The following is an adjusted tentative timetable.

Apr 29 (Wed) Hayeon Jeong (Oregon State University)
May 7th (Thu) Yonghoon Kwon (Department of Applied Life Chemistry, Seoul National University)
May 14th (Thu) Kyung-gu Lee (Department of Chemistry, Kunsan University)
May 21st (Thu) Kangmun Lee (Department of Chemistry, Kangwon National University)
May 28th (Thu) Nam Ki-tae (Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Seoul National University)
June 4th (Thu) Jongcheol Seo (Chemistry Department, POSTECH)

In general we used to have 10 speakers per semester, but we have decided to invite only six excellent speakers. However, we inform you that the above tentative schedule may be canceled if circumstances caused by COVID-19 does not improve by the end of April. In this case, we are considering other class methods to replace the seminar, and we will notify/guide you as soon as a decision is made.

In addition, this course designates the completion of “Research Ethics Course” as a mandatory requirement. After completing the research ethics education which is provided online on the Blackboard, press the “Print to Screen” button to print and scan to create a “pdf file” or directly save it as a “pdf file” and submit it to the Assignment section on the Blackboard. Submission deadline is March 31st.
