2024 Application for the Truth Scholarship Program (until 5/9)
Target: 2024 academic year students enrolled in the Seoul campus, current 2nd and 3rd-year Chemistry students
(Maximum of 4 students selected / not available for leave of absence students, graduates, or exchange students)
Scholarship Amount: 1.65 million KRW
Required Documents: Truth Scholarship application form and study plan, each one copy
Submission Period: May 9, 2024 (Thursday) until 5:00 PM
Submission Location: Chemistry Department Administration Office
(Asan Science Building 334A, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM / Lunch Break: 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM)
Activity Details
- 1:1 personalized education with assigned professors
(Assigned based on student's research preference, with interviews if needed)
- Identifying and selecting research topics through discussions with assigned professors
- Conducting research related to advanced undergraduate studies
(Required activity period: May 1, 2024 ~ December 13, 2025)
- Truth Scholarship Program completion automatically fulfills the advanced major research course required for graduation
(Students are required to enroll in "Advanced Major Research II" course in the second semester of 2024)
- Mandatory attendance at academic conferences (Korean Chemical Society, Polymer Society, Mass Spectrometry Society, etc.)
- Presenting research at workshops (around mid-December 2024)
- Submitting research notes and final research reports (by February 28, 2025)
- Excellent research results may be published as first-author articles in prestigious international journals and promoted on the department and college websites/newsletter
Selection Criteria
- Passion for academic challenges and the potential benefits of receiving the scholarship in shaping the student's future career
- Academic performance is not a major factor in the selection process
- Applicants who receive full scholarships or other grants are also eligible
Truth Scholarship Usage
- Research activity expenses (research notebooks, supplies, photocopies, poster production, etc.)
- Research materials and analysis fees
- Conference participation expenses (registration, travel, accommodation fees)
- Other costs (additional expenses depending on the lab's needs)
Expected Outcomes
- Enhancement of research skills and ability to identify technological trends
- Publication of research in prestigious international journals through undergraduate research
- Building an excellent career in chemistry-related fields (helpful for future employment or graduate school applications)
